The challenge

Inspired by my love for animals, I wanted to explore how a modern product could improve the number of reunited pets and the experience of reporting and finding lost pets while building an engaged community around it.

  • Research existing lost pet platforms.
  • Simplify lost and found pet reporting.
  • Build a scalable community-first MVP.
  • Validate a long-term product vision.

The solution

Built entirely with Lovable, Petmeback transforms months of product research into a modern web application designed to help reunite pets with their families while providing a scalable foundation for future community features.

  • Extensive competitor research.
  • Built entirely with Lovable and AI.
  • Responsive lost & found platform.
  • Continuously iterating on the product.

  • Introduce donations as the first monetisation model.

Learnings

User experience

Designing for emotionally stressful situations means removing friction and helping users act as quickly as possible.

Business impact

The research showed that successful products reinforce the importance of combining product design with community building.

Value increment

AI can trully accelerate the journey from idea to a fully functional product without compromising UX or product thinking.

Outcomes

Current status

Petmeback is a live side project that I continue to evolve in my spare time. The MVP is online, and the current focus is on validating user behaviour through Google Analytics, growing an engaged community via Facebook, improving discoverability through SEO, and expanding the platform to support additional user groups such as shelters and rescue organisations.
